I got a job! [28 Feb 2007|04:25pm]
I have a job now! I'm starting Monday at PetSmart. I'll be cross-training on the cash register and in the small animal dept. In other news I got some pain medication for Gypsy to try to control her arthritis. She's otherwise healthy and as long as her pain is managed she should continue to have a good life. I'm also giving serious thought to starting another LJ discussing why abortion is wrong.

Civil charges [10 Jan 2007|09:50pm]
When I talked to Max (the report-taker), she advised me to take the case to Potter Co. for civil charges. I'll give it a try, but she was right when she pointed out that this could be a case of he said, she said. I wish I could count on Rita, but I have a feeling if she's subpoenaed she may lie even under oath.

Finally! [10 Jan 2007|10:53am]
[ mood | hopeful ]

I finally got off my duff and called Lt. Kuster. She advised me to make an embezzlement report against Andy, which I am going to do later today when the report-taker calls me back. Maybe I can scare him into paying me...

Got my car back today. [08 Dec 2006|07:59pm]
[ mood | amused ]

Turned out to be the starter switch this time. It cost about $350. Heheh, at this rate I'm going to end up having the whole car rebuilt one piece at a time. Still, I love my Jimmy, so it's worth it.

Not all psychopaths are murderers [28 Nov 2006|09:46am]
[ mood | crushed ]

Some are just thieves.

According to Wikipedia: In current clinical use, psychopathy is most commonly diagnosed using Robert D. Hare's Psychopathy Checklist-Revised (PCL-R). Hare describes psychopaths as "intraspecies predators who use charm, manipulation, intimidation, and violence to control others and to satisfy their own selfish needs. Lacking in conscience and in feelings for others, they cold-bloodedly take what they want and do as they please, violating social norms and expectations without the slightest sense of guilt or regret."[2]

Well, I know one. A little over a year ago I made a verbal deal with someone I've known for over 23 years to sell NUMEROUS high price items for me on Ebay, including Franklin Mint figurines and Barbies still in the box. Since he was going to be doing the hard part, I made a very generous deal with him. To make a long story short, he paid me for about the first seven Barbies and I haven't seen a dime since then. About six months ago he quit talking to me altogether. Now he's trying to turn it around and make it seem like HE'S the victim in all this. I've come to realize that in his own little world, as long as he thinks it's all right, then it is. He literally has no conscience and no scruples. I should also mention that in the process of moving out of state, he borrowed heavily from his parents and has made no attempts to repay them either. They had to declare bankruptcy recently.

If anyone wants to know the name of this "paragon of virtue", just let me know and I'll tell you. I do know that his last known location was Colorado Springs and the last I knew he was involved in falconry. He is also Wiccan and probably active in the gay community.

How could he? [01 Nov 2006|10:15pm]
[ mood | pissed off ]

I went to see Andy's parents yesterday, in the slim hope that his mother would agree to give an affidavit against him. She didn't of course, even though he ripped them off just as badly as he did me. I felt so badly for them when I saw them. They both look like they've aged about 20 years since I saw them last. Ken still can't talk clearly, he's on oxygen and he's having myriad other health problems. Rita is just worn out from caring from him and worrying about her daughter, who is having health problems of her own. Throw in Andy's utterly reprehensible actions and life must just seem like hell to her right now. I could just kick Andy's worthless ass, for what he's done to me and to his family. What a worthless POS he's turned out to be.

Almost a month... [25 Sep 2006|07:50pm]
now, since I retired. After taking a few weeks off, I've gotten back into the swing of things, taking a few temp jobs while I'm searching for something permanent. I'm in no great hurry, I still have plenty of money for a cushion until something comes along.

Also, on a really happy note, Sarah had her baby today! It's a girl, named Sophia Mary Louise Williams. *chuckle* It's also going to be her last. Pregnancy is just too hard on her. Debbie was so happy when I talked to her.

Perturbed [28 May 2006|05:24pm]
[ mood | uncomfortable ]

When I ate at United today there was a black purse setting in a chair, along with a few other items. A couple started to sit there, then moved thinking someone else was already sitting there. After a few minutes I told the women behind the coffee counter about it and they did nothing, just said that someone would be back for it. About halfway through my meal, a woman walked up, carrying her own tan purse, and sat down at that table. She stared at me, making eye contact, which made me wonder what she was up to. She then kept looking around and staring at me while she ate. I told the women again that it didn't look right to me and they kept saying they'd contact a supervisor. When they finally did all she did was walk up to the woman and ask if that was hers. She said it was and the supervisor left it at that. I have a feeling that someone is going to be reporting a lost purse to United....but it will be too late...

Things [26 Mar 2006|02:42pm]
Well,I finally have turn signals again! Only cost about $25 too. $10 for the flasher unit and $15 to have in installed. The installation was the hard part. The mechanic could not find where it went and had to practically take apart my dashboard to find it. Took nearly an hour. I felt really sorry for him.

While I was waiting there was a flier blowing around that kept hitting my legs and getting caught under my tires. It was for a little lost Maltese type dog that was from 1014 Milam, which is very close to me. It was such a cute little dog from the pictures. Also while I was waiting this incredibly tiny black dog was running around loose across the street in a little park. I went over and tried to get it to come to me, but it spooked and took off, hopefully heading home. It really pissed me off to see that little dog (which I'm pretty sure is one I've seen on my own block, about two blocks over). To get to the park it had to cross two streets, one of them fairly busy. Even if it's a dog that knows how dangerous cars are, it was still so tiny that any other dog (or cat for that matter) could kill it with one bite. I bet it didn't weigh over five lbs., if that much. And from the way it moved, it was full grown, not a puppy.

Well, I've finally bit the bullet and deleted my Mummies Alive! friends on AIM. I never talk to any of them anymore, so why keep it? It's sad, though, when virtual friendships just fade away.

The Duggars [11 Mar 2006|02:30pm]
There is a couple in Arkansas who have 16 children and are talking about having more. Personally, this doesn't bother me as the family is NOT living on welfare. They are managing quite nicely on rental property and I believe the husband is a realtor. He also was in politics for a while and we all know that pays well. :>

Some people, however, consider it their business to condemn the family because of so many children.

Fortunately some people have a little common sense.

Hooked [09 Mar 2006|08:45pm]
I've been watching ER on TNT for the last week since I've been on vacation and I'm hooked. I did a bad thing and I've bid on all four seasons on EBay. Each season is new, though, and if I win I'll be getting much cheaper than I could in a store. :>

On another note, I didn't do one iota of unpacking this whole week. I'm so bad....

Cars=money pits [25 Dec 2005|10:04am]
*sigh* $140 Monday, another $80 Thursday to get the thermostat replaced, and a whopping $770 Saturday to get the fuel pump itself replaced. I'm beginning to long for the horse and buggy days.

I love Mondays [19 Dec 2005|01:42pm]
[ mood | silly ]

My day has just been peachy-keen, thank you so much. Made the mistake of believing that de-icer actually WORKS, so I delayed in letting my car warm up, which naturally had me running late for work. Nevertheless, my windshield was clear and I was on my way. Better late than never, right? So, I make it to Broadway and not even a mile down the road, MY FRIGGING CAR QUITS!!! Left me sitting sideways in the middle of the road, jutting into the other lane. So this really nice older man stops and after some hemming and hawing (and a few other cars stopping), he nudges me off the road into the bar ditch with his car and makes himself late for work to drive me home. So, I call into work and tell them my car died (which no doubt went over well with the capt. and the lt.) So, then sat there waiting for the impound wrecker guy to come pick me up so we can go get the car. He shows up after a while and tows the car to a garage for me. It's slick as hell all around the garage and I make a spectacle of myself and fall on my ass. At the very least it was a controlled fall and I didn't get hurt, just thoroughly stuck cuz there was no traction to keep my feet under me. So I finally drag myself up using a metal A frame. I'm standing there hanging on for dear life and the garage owner and the tow truck driver are throwing rock salt and dirt all over the place. I REALLY wish somebody had video taped that farce. Anyway, the Jimmy and I both make it safely into the guy's garage and after about two hours Mr. Burkhalter has changed out the oil line filter and put in oil line antifreeze to be on the safe side. By this time it's 12:35 and I say the heck to trying to make it into work for the day. The Jimmy is running fine, so I drive CAREFULLY home and get there about 1. Towing fee, $60. Garage fee, $77. Being home safe with the dogs, priceless. And how was YOUR day?

Money money money! [08 Sep 2005|12:36am]
[ mood | busy ]

Feh. The AC guy came by today and told me the problem was not condensation, but part of the AC being rusted out. He also said that rather than just replacing the rusted-out part (for about $2000), it would be smarter to replace the whole thing for about $4000. Frankly, I agreed with him. I've been in this house 11 years and God knows how long the central unit was here before that. So, off I went to the bank and applied for a new loan that would give me enough to repay my current loan and an additional $4500 for the new unit and for some other work around the house. It should start processing today and hopefully it won't take too long. Then once the AC is fixed Andy and Judah can come by and repair the den floor. In other news I have an appointment this afternoon to go look at a few houses outside of town. I'm still determined to get into a place with lower property tax. And if I do move it will mean I won't have to make too many payments on the new loan...I know, you're going "Why get the loan at all if you're thinking about moving?" Because I want the house to be in decent shape when it goes up for sale. A new AC, a new den floor, get an electrician out to find out why the light won't come on in the spare bedroom, and lastly hire a handyman to patch up a few holes and cracks in the drywall around the house, finish off the fake fireplace in the living room and replace the broken skylight in the garage. Oh, and get the people who do my front lawn to come by and clean up the backyard.

Second time around [20 Aug 2005|06:34pm]
[ mood | listless ]

Well, I had my second and LAST garage sale today. I made $60, but towards the end I was practically giving things away. I sold everything left on the table and the table itself to a Bails Bond guy that stopped by for $10, because it just wasn't moving. I also sold him Aunt Do's twin bed for $3. And when the lady came by to pick up the TV and the two bedframes I gave her the huge metal filing cabinet, which was also not moving. It was worth it just to get rid of everything. Now I'm all exhausted and headachey....

Garage sale [13 Aug 2005|02:20pm]
[ mood | exhausted ]

Well, it was pretty successful. I still have over 50 video tapes left, but the majority sold. So did most of the furniture. Sadly, no one wanted any of the bedframes. Still, I made $110, which will go towards my property tax. :>

*laughs* I dug out some of my old fashion dolls last night to assemble my Buffy cast. I have Buffy, Angel, Cordelia, Faith, Xander, Willow and even Giles! Not a great Giles but still not bad. *sighs* Now if I could just find a Billy Idol doll, I'd have Spike...did they ever even MAKE a Billy Idol fashion doll?

Anime dolls [05 Jun 2005|05:27pm]
[ mood | creative ]

All right! I found a site that tells how to make wigs for fashion dolls! I already have five Kevin dolls that are going to end up being the five Gundam pilots as well two Skippers for Relena and Dorothy and some dolls that will work for Treize, Zechs and Lady Une. No Noin or Sally Po though....and I've decided to use Todd for Mokuba and Yugi, a flat-chested Skipper with a transplanted head for Yami/Atemu and Kevin dolls for Joey, Honda, Seto, Ryou/Bakura and Malik...although since Malik is darker...that could be a problem...

Gotta love quizzes! [29 May 2005|02:59pm]

You Are The Outlaw
"Sure, I'll do it. My way."

Just because you do not conform to the same laws and rules as everyone else does not mean that you are a bad guy. You travel your own path, separate from those around you, with your own reasons for doing what you do. Because of this and your own nature, it goes without saying that you are generally misunderstood. That does not matter much, though, as people love you for being who you are. You are pretty well set in your ways and have no real intention of changing. This can come across as a flicker of arrogance if your not careful. You do what is right for you, and God help anyone who stands in your way.
